About

Archiversus

The work we do on the automation of building, and where it is published.

Archiversus collects work on one chain: survey what exists, design from that survey, compile the design into instructions a machine executes, build, check the site as the work goes, and keep the finished building sending its data back.

Each step already works on its own. What does not work yet are the joints between them, where someone has to redraw, retype or re-measure what the previous step already produced. That is where the research sits.

We do not publish anything we have not built or measured. Where a result is open — cost, standards, what breaks outside the lab — it is written as open.

Indexlab, Politecnico di Milano

The building and survey work is done at Indexlab, a research laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano at the Lecco campus: two Fanuc arms on rails under one controller, and the survey equipment that feeds them.
